Waiheke's Inaugural Sustainability Festival

January 16th - 22nd

January 16th 2012 will see the launch of the inaugural Waiheke Sustainability Festival run by the WRT. The festival will showcase all that Waiheke has to offer: from food and drink producers through to innovative local community groups and initiatives and awesome products and services to help households, individuals and businesses reduce their impact on the environment.

The festival will replace Junk to Funk as the WRTs major annual fundraiser and there will be something happening to interest everyone. It will be a week of hands-on learning and fun!

Events during the week-long festival will include:

• The Junk to Funk 7 Day Challenge
• Pecha Kucha (small talks) evening
• Ready Steady Cook - Waiheke Style
• Sunday market with live music, stalls, art installations, workshops and lots to eat and drink
• Workshops 
• Oxfam's climate change in the Pacific exhibition
• Movie screenings
• Track upgrades with Conservation Volunteers
• Waiheke Radio is running their Second Annual CD, DVD and Record sale at the White House
• And lots more!
