Beach Ambassadors

Let's keep our beaches clean...

Beach Ambassadors are here to help. They are locals who share stories, resources, local knowledge and a genuine pride and love for the Waiheke community with the public they engage with.
Stationed on Waiheke’s most popular beaches each summer, Beach Ambassadors encourage sustainable behaviour and support beach-goers, whether visitors or island locals, to take personal responsibility by preventing littering, encouraging reusables and the "pack-in, pack out" concept. They are mobile waste educators and information sources.

We have guidance on conservation, reducing and managing waste, conserving water and connecting with your community. You can also find out how to grow food, and compost scraps.
