Bike Box Waiheke
We are a not-for-profit do-it-yourself-with-help bicycle workshop. People can fix, build and learn about bikes in a safe and friendly environment. We provide tools, knowledge and training for you and your bike.
We aim to empower people, encourage skill sharing and promote cycling as an affordable, social form of transport that is good for the environment and part of a healthy lifestyle. We are community based organisation and our staff are assisted by enthusiastic volunteers. We don’t offer a certified mechanical repair service where you can drop your bike off to be fixed but we can point you in the right direction if this is the service you require.
When to visit
Come and see us on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am - 2pm.
Where to find us
We're in the blue and green container next to the Sustainability Centre on Mako Street, Oneroa.
What we do
We provide free access to tools and advice on basic bike maintenance including repair workshops. We sell used and new bike parts and give safe cycling guidance.
Come to one of Cycle Action Waiheke's free community events this summer at Bike Box. Hosted by storyteller Tanya Batt, space is limited and booking is essential.
If you know a bit about bikes and are keen to share your enthusiasm and skills with the community, we'd love to here from you.
We sell some basic bike maintenance products and used bike parts. At this stage we do not upcycle and on-sell used bikes. Visit the Box to see our current stock.
If you'd like to donate an old bike, please take it to the Waiheke Resource Recovery Centre in Ostend. We'll retrieve reusable parts and bikes from there. If you have parts to donate please send us a message via our facebook page or visit us during opening hours.
