Saving our Iconic Trees – Public Talk

Part of the Waiheke Pestival 2021, this FREE public talk will inform you on how to prevent, identify and managing threats to our trees.

Want to learn about the conservation and protection of Waiheke’s native plant ecosystems? Come listen to Dr Nick Waipara, Science group leader at Plant and Food research and Ngā Rākau Taketake Co-Lead. He will address how to prevent, identify and manage threats to our trees including Myrtle rust and Kauri Dieback. Nick will be joined by local Forest and Bird and Auckland Council representatives.

The Centre has a projector, presentation space and a fully-equipped kitchen including cookeware.

The rates for using the Centre are as follows:

  • $10/hr for non-profit groups
  • $20/hr for profit groups

Please note that the Centre does not host birthday parties. Your booking must include your set up and pack down time, and you are expected to leave a tidy Centre for others.
