Kai Gardens

A new year calls for a new season of kai gardens! As we approach February, we are preparing to start sowing new seeds and we need your help! We are currently on the lookout for supplies and awesome volunteers that can help get stuck into planting and watering. Our gardens run on the mahi and support of our volunteers!

At the moment we are in need of:

  • punnets for seed germination and for selling seedlings
  • toilet rolls for selling individual seedlings
  • ice cream containers

If you have any to return to Kai Gardens from purchasing plants from us last year, or have any to spare, we would greatly appreciate them!

You can see the containers we need pictured below: if you have any excess at home we will put them to good use. Drop them by at the Waiheke Sustainability Centre (0 Mako Street) 9-5pm on weekdays.

You can also pop in to check out the kai gardens, which are a great demonstration of what you can do with limited space, dedicated watering, and some wonderful plants! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Livne ([email protected])

Thanks community!
