We’ve been having a good ol’ plastic-free time this month, with the Plastic Free Market Day starting us off and then a variety of events ever since.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and make a pledge as an individual or an organisation to reduce your plastic use – we have created some beautiful certificates that you can download and print!

To help you start your buying in bulk and reducing plastic by using our ecostore refill station, we’ve got a special promotion happening!

For every 5L product (excl. dish liquid) you purchase, you will receive a FREE ecostore lip balm.

As a reminder, our ecostore refill station is open 9-4 on weekdays, and you can refill most of our ecostore products after you’ve emptied your first lot, reducing your plastic consumption over the long-term!

Two of our upcoming Plastic Free July Events are:

Heke Design Clothes-Mending, Friday 17th July 11-2pm, FREE, hosted at the Waiheke Sustainability Centre

Swing by our Kai Conscious Cafe and bring your ripped trousers, holey undies and worn-out jumpers this Friday!

Bea Lorrimer will be guiding us through some simple clothing repairs using her trusty sewing machine and a bucketful of fabric scraps.

Come along to learn the power of repairing old and well-loved clothing to keep them going for another few years.

Eco Printing and Journal Making Workshop, Saturday 18th July, 10am – 1pm, $20pp / FREE, hosted at the Waiheke Sustainability Centre

Re-bound Journals and Ecoprint have come together so you can make your own unique wire-bound mini journal with pages printed from nature. All materials are supplied, and the workshop is $20 per person.

If you would like to do some more free-style crafting, you can drop by between 10-1 to create an artwork using paper collage.
